A 2014 Thanksgiving What If

A 2014-Thanksgiving-What-If

What if things did not have to stay as they are?

What if things could be different?

What if things were different?

It is easy to get caught up in the “us and them” drama of what we see on television and let those behaviors affect our own.  It does not have to be that way.

What if we loved one another? No strings attached and no exceptions.

What if we really believed “red and yellow, black and white they are precious in His site.” ?

What if we listened to one another more to understand their view… rather than seeking to prove our own?

What if we sought to find the best in another instead of assuming the worst?

What if we tried to find the common ground of things we agree on instead of what we don’t?

What if we prayed for those that we thought were our enemies instead of cutting them up verbally and classifying them as ________?

What if we learned to forgive and REFUSED to hold a grudge?

What if we prayed for wisdom before opening our mouth to devour one another?

What if we considered the needs of others instead of focusing on our own?

In thinking about the questions above I am reminded that things don’t have to be as they appear.  They don’t have to stay the same.

In God’s world… steams can flow in the desert, blind eyes can see again, the lame can walk, the dead are raised to life again and dry bones can become living, breathing people.

May His Kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Happy Thanksgiving
